7 reasons to volunteer at Nourish Hub in 2025

NourishHub is a community kitchen in Shepherd’s Bush, serving 3-course vegetarian lunches to residents Monday to Friday. All produce used in the kitchen is surplus or rescued, supplied by charities including UKHarvest, City Harvest and the Felix Project, as well as restaurants and shops. Volunteers make up 75% of the workforce at NourishHub.

Training for Volunteers thanks to The London School of Coffee

Thanks to the generosity of The London School of Coffee, Nourish Hub has received 60kg of donated coffee and 20 members of the volunteer and staff team have completed the Beginners Course in Coffee Preparation, which has provided opportunities to develop coffee skills, whilst ensuring Nourish Hub has the best possible barista coffees for sale!

Shining a Spotlight on: Sophia

Everyone discovers Nourish Hub for different reasons, but each person that walks through the door brings joy and light into our community. Sophia is one such person. Having met the team at a mental health workshop last year, Sophia felt that Nourish Hub could be a space where she could find support for her own mental health, while learning new skills and feeling that she belonged somewhere important within the community.

Shining a spotlight on: Mihaela

Mihaela joined Nourish Hub as a volunteer in February 2023. Working alongside the kitchen team, Mihaela has attended the Hub weekly, becoming an important part of the volunteer group, bringing a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm with her, having recently graduated with a BSc in Nutrition.Â
