Three Years of Nourish Hub

An Overview

Since opening in 2021, Nourish Hub has continued to grow and connect with communities in West London. Creating pathways to work, offering a wide range of educational courses and ensuring that surplus food, rescued by UKHarvest, is used to create healthy nutritious meals available to those who need it most. From the thousands of meals created and delivered from surplus food to hungry mouths, to the hundreds of people that have experienced and benefitted from the incredible educational programme, NourishEd. The reach of the community kitchen continues to grow, but here is a look at what’s taken place over the last 3 years.

“As a young woman experiencing crisis for the first time, this organisation has been a huge part of getting me back into a routine, restoring my hope for the future, and reassuring me that no matter what happens, there will always be a hot meal, friendly people and a safe space to welcome me.”

At Nourish Hub, we believe good food is just the beginning. It’s a route to better health, stronger community ties, and a sense of belonging. That’s why, this spring, we piloted a new project that combined our cookery course with a free on-site creche for children under five so parents could participate fully, without worrying about childcare.
"Meals and a Chat" is a services provided by Nourish Hub in partnership with the Council's Adult Social Care department. This service goes beyond the traditional "Meals on Wheels" service by offering a greater variety of meal options and social interaction through wellbeing checks during delivery.
Nourish Hub welcomed 72 young people aged 8–12 from local schools into our training kitchen for six days of hands-on learning, discovery, and delicious food at our ‘Fun with Food’ clubs.
