Nourish Hub welcomed 72 young people aged 8–12 from local schools into our training kitchen for six days of hands-on learning, discovery, and delicious food at our ‘Fun with Food’ clubs.

Each day focused on a new cuisine from a different part of the world. Led by chef Oli and chef Tripti, the young people chopped, mixed, kneaded, and tasted their way through six countries and made 12 different recipes, all while engaging with important topics like food waste, sustainability, and healthy eating.

The feedback speaks volumes about the value of the ‘Fun with Food’ clubs:

  • 100% of attendees rated the sessions as “Excellent”
  • 90% said they learned something new about cooking and food waste
  • 100% would recommend Nourish Hub to a friend

“Making the food, it felt fun because it teaches me how to cook and learn about other cultures.”
Child A, age 8

“How I can be so independent and have a fun time. Also, I have improved my cooking skills.”
Child B, age 10

“Cooking food that I have not tried yet and meeting new people.”
Child C, age 12

At Nourish Hub, we believe everyone deserves access to good food—and the skills to make it. This programme wouldn’t have been possible without the support from our funder LMP Action, the time and dedication of volunteers.

We’d love for you to join us at one of our upcoming events and activities! Keep an eye on our website and social media (@thenourishhub) for details on upcoming events. If you have ideas for workshops or want to volunteer, we can’t wait to hear from you!

The Warm Welcome campaign was founded in response to the UK’s cost-of-living and fuel crisis. From its beginnings as a seasonal initiative, it has become a nationwide movement of thousands of community venues; from libraries to cafés, churches to community centres.
