Celebrating Notting Dale Cookbook – Our Community Supper Celebration

On 28th November, the Notting Dale Community Cookbook launched at a special community supper celebration, which used recipes from the book as inspiration for the night’s menu.

We were joined by residents, representatives from participating organisations, local Councillors and the RBKC Future Neighbourhoods Team. Each attendee was treated to a three-course meal as a thank-you for participating in the Future Neighbourhood 2030 (FN2030) programme and given a copy of the cookbook to take home.

Chef Angus introduced the menu:

“We wanted to showcase some of the incredible recipes from the book. We decided on a European cuisine theme to structure the menu and recipes which included vibrant seasonal ingredients”.

Helen, Education and Event Coordinator gave an insight into how the cookbook was produced:

“The 43 organisations which participated in the future neighbourhood project were invited to submit recipes to represent their organisation, culture and food heritage. These recipes were then tested by our brilliant volunteers at the Hub. The Notting Dale cookbook is an amazing piece of work and represents our local area and creates a legacy of collaboration”.

Ffion, Hub Manager, thanked all and acknowledged the brilliant work of residents who submitted recipes, volunteers who tested recipes, Hannah and Katie the photographer and food stylist who volunteered their time and skills, Chef Angus and Helen for leading on the project, volunteers from ITV for being the team serving the meals at the supper and not forgetting the GLA, Notting Dale Council and RBKC whom without this project wouldn’t be possible.

The event was a roaring success.

At Nourish Hub, we believe good food is just the beginning. It’s a route to better health, stronger community ties, and a sense of belonging. That’s why, this spring, we piloted a new project that combined our cookery course with a free on-site creche for children under five so parents could participate fully, without worrying about childcare.
"Meals and a Chat" is a services provided by Nourish Hub in partnership with the Council's Adult Social Care department. This service goes beyond the traditional "Meals on Wheels" service by offering a greater variety of meal options and social interaction through wellbeing checks during delivery.
Nourish Hub welcomed 72 young people aged 8–12 from local schools into our training kitchen for six days of hands-on learning, discovery, and delicious food at our ‘Fun with Food’ clubs.
